Safe Kids Wyoming and its network of Coalitions and Chapters are members of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing accidental injury. We know our efforts are needed because as many as 90 percent of accidental injuries can be prevented.

Accidental injury is the number one cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the United States. Also, each year one out of every four children needs medical attention for an accidental injury.
This weekend is full of Safe Kids' activities. They are all free and include fun with safety.
!) January 14 (Saturday): Free Car Seat Check, 10-noon at the new Fire Station #3 on 12th/Beverly. Bring you child, the seat and vehicle for a correct inspection by a certified Child Passenger Seat Technician. Misuse of car seats remain high...in Natrona County it averages 90%.
2) January 15 (Sunday): Free Winter Safety Day at Hogadon, 9-12. Safe Kids will provide goodies, safety advice and helmets for skiing/snowboarding (with a suggested donation of $20 to keep the program rolling). Helmets save heads and heads are hard to heal.
3) January 16 (Monday-Martin Luther King Day, no school): Safe Kids Swim Morn at the Casper Aquatic Center, 10-noon. It's free and fun. And if you're an ice fisherman, you'll learn tips on how to be safe on the ice.
Diane Guerttman with Safe kids spent some time with us this morning outlining each of the events.
