Time is running out to make your reservations for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming's 19th Annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast, coming up on September 20th. This year's event features Casper's Peter Wold as the honoree, and the keynote speaker is actor, author, and children's advocate Henry Winkler, best known as "Fonzie" from the TV series "Happy Days".

There is no charge for the breakfast, but attendees are asked to make a donation. Club officials say this is their largest fundraiser of the year, and the community's chance to make a difference through their contributions.

Diane McGinley, of the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, says they want people to know the scope of what those donation dollars do for the Club. "We're talking about contributing to curriculums that make huge impacts on students, over 2500 kids came into financial literacy and learned about that, almost 1500 students received homework help 43,000 times last year," she says. "We've got kids this summer, and our Boys and Girls Club kids read over 2400 hours of reading in the summer program. It's an incredible impact."

Club officials say they are nearing seating capacity on the floor, and are happy to continue to accept reservations but cannot guarantee table seating on the Events Center floor. You can call (307) 235-4079 for more information.
