Boys And Girls Club Of Central Wyoming Golf Tournament Raises Over $42,000
The 21st Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming, presented by Vista Toyota, was another one for the books.
A strong wind helped and hurt golfers at the same time, but at the end of the day, it was a huge success. Twenty-seven teams, made up of 108 golfers, helped raise over $42,000 towards BGCCW's annual $5.7 million operating budget.
The winners on the course were Matt Cassel, Paul Bertogolio, Gary Johnson, and Tom Popilek; however, the real winners of the day were the kids at BGCCW.
The club operates eleven sites across four Wyoming counties, impacting thousands of kids through programs focused on academics, character development, and healthy lifestyles.
Some of the programs offered at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming are:
- Summer Camps
- After-School Programs
- Homeschool P.E.
- Sports Leagues
- Outreach Programs
The golf tournament is one of the many annual fundraising events that have become a staple for the club. As you can imagine, it takes a significant amount of fundraising to help the programs continue to positively impact families in Casper, Glenrock, Buffalo, Riverton, and Dubois.
The major fundraising events in Casper are:
- The reverse raffle and auction in February
- Golf Tournament in June
- And still to come is the Annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast in September.
This year's Awards and Recognition Breakfast is scheduled for September 17 at the Ford Wyoming Center.
Barbara Cubin, Wyoming's first woman to represent the state in Congress, will be the honoree.
The featured speaker will be Will Reeve, the son of Christopher and Dana Reeve, a TV host and Boys and Girls Club alum.
Dave and Karla Dundas will receive the Mick & Susie McMurry "Cowboy Code Try" Award.
