The Casper After School Program for Education and Recreation (C.A.S.P.E.R.) is a cooperative effort between the City of Casper Recreation Division and the Natrona County School District to provide interscholastic sports experiences opportunities for 4th and 5th graders.

The C.A.S.P.E.R. program has an “everyone plays” philosophy and emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, fun, healthy choices, and developmental sports skills improvement.

Boys Basketball for 4th and 5th graders is quickly approaching; the registration deadline is December 18. The registration fee is $10 per player. The Community Recreation Foundation provides financial assistance for those who may need help paying the registration fee. Registration can be completed at the Casper Recreation Center anytime during operating hours.

Registrants play on their school team when possible. Practices take place at the player’s home school beginning the week of January 4 and are held once or twice weekdays after school hours. Games are played on Saturdays at the Casper Recreation Center, 1801 East 4th Street, starting January 16. The season consists of practices and 6 games.
