Carlton Anderson: From the Oil Fields to Opening for Old Dominion
Carlton Anderson will be the opening performer in April at the Casper Events Center for Old Dominion and Michael Ray. Carlton visited with us about how he went from working the oil fields of East Texas to opening for Old Dominion.
I never traveled on rigs or anything like that, but my dad and my uncles, my family...that's what they did. They did oil field work and a little bit of cowboy work and that kind of thing. That's kinda what kept the lights on.
Carlton was raised in the part of Texas where oil fields are where just about everyone worked at some point.
Carlton Anderson: "I never traveled on rigs or anything like that, but my dad and my uncles, my family...that's what they did. They did oil field work and a little bit of cowboy work and that kind of thing. That's kinda what kept the lights on."
From the days of working for the oil companies to taking the stage to open for Old Dominion has blown Carlton away.
Carlton Anderson: "Yeah, it's awesome...we've been at it for about 7 or 8 years so we've kinda been working for a long time to get to this point and we're gonna be making the most of it."
As it turns out, Carlton shared that he loves the West and Wyoming specifically.
Carlton Anderson: "I'm from Texas. I'm obsessed with western culture and all that. I've never played Wyoming so I'm so pumped to get out there and get in front of those people because I know they love good country music and it couldn't be with a better group of guys than Old Dominion."
Carlton Anderson will be the first artist on stage at the Casper Events Center on April 10 followed by Michael Ray and Old Dominion. Make sure you have your tickets for the show and get the latest on what Carlton is up to on his official website and the usual social media sites like Facebook.
