Casper ‘Breaking The Silence’ Suicide Prevention Walk Sept. 15th
"Suicide Prevention is everyone’s business."--Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and Wyoming consistently has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. The 15th annual "Breaking The Silence Walk" on September 15th, organized by the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force, is one of the efforts to raise awareness about the problem.
Suicide is a leading cause of preventable death in Wyoming impacting individuals, families, and communities throughout the state. It affects all ages, all backgrounds, and all racial and ethnic groups, according to the Wyoming Department of Health.
The Task Force says they hope that by working together as a community, we are able to break the stigma surrounding suicide.
