It's one of those things you think only happens to other people. For one Casper family, the fear of losing everything in a fire became their reality and they need help as they try to recover.

Kristi Nicole Hanks shared her story with me of how she and her 2 kids and fiancé were watching a football game with a friend only to learn that their home had burned down.

According to the GoFundMe page created for the family, her kids lost their 2 dogs and 2 ferrets in the blaze.

Out of this tragedy, there is some good news. Their insurance will help them rebuild their home. But according to her post, the big problem they're facing now is it will not pay for the removal of asbestos that was present in the home. The cost of that is over $27,000.

If you have a heart to help this Casper family, you can get all of the details on Kristi's GoFundMe page.
