That's according to a post made to the CPD Facebook page, which stated why Officer Bigelow was chosen for this honor.

"Officer Bigelow has exhibited the highest professional qualities of a Casper Police Officer through his outstanding work ethic, commitment, and professionalism," the CPD wrote. "Officer Bigelow shares his training and experience with both his trainees and fellow trainers, by often providing impromptu classes on a variety of law enforcement subjects. Officer Bigelow regularly studies case law and modern judicial trends, which has led to him being invited to speak and participate in law enforcement functions around the country."

The Casper Police Department stated that Officer Bigelow is proactive as a police officer, and he enjoys "getting bad guys off the streets."

His energy and enthusiasm are oft-replicated by his trainees.

"Because of Officer Bigelow's experience and proven judgment, he is often relied upon by his supervisors to lead," the post stated. "Officer Bigelow is a self-motivated officer and has established himself as a leader amongst his peers."

The Casper Police Department have recently started acknowledging their officers in a series called 'Heroes Behind the Headlines.' This gives the community an opportunity to really get to know the men and women who serve Casper on a daily basis.
