Opening day for the Casper Spuds is finally here.

If you don't have your tickets yet, you can get them at Since today is the season's first game, the Spuds want to Pack The Patch and squeeze as many people into the stands as possible when they take on the Spearfish Sasquatch. To help do that, they're offering 2-for-1 tickets. That means you're paying $4 per ticket for the game.

I'd say the team is pretty pumped about getting started.

At last night's Meet the Spuds event at The Range @ 5150, I caught up with head coach James Batton. After a tough loss in the championship series last summer, he says the team is ready.

We have 11 or 12 return players and we already have really good team chemistry already, we've only been together for three days.

Coach Batton was a late arrival for the Spuds last season, but he has no doubt this is where he's supposed to be.

Coming back to the Spuds was kind of God telling me, like, hey man, this is what you need to do. Having done it for almost 12 straight months, it's like yeah, this is my calling. Give the guys an environment they want to be in, want to play, and get better at.

You can grab your Spuds gear and tickets today when the team store is open between 12 and 5 at Mike Lansing Field.
