Casper's Trails Center Presents Holiday On The Homestead

Enjoy an old time Christmas with “Holiday on the Homestead” at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center Saturday, December 9th. “'Holiday on the Homestead' is a wonderful opportunity to share the season with the community,” said Trails Center Director Chris Wilkinson. “This annual event is a great way to spend time with family while enjoying the educational and fun activities offered.”

Organizers say the celebration is a fun way for visitors to connect to their public lands and America’s natural and cultural heritage. Here's a list of activities, depending on the weather and while supplies last.

Old Time Family Photos – Dress up in pioneer clothes beside a pioneer wagon for old-fashioned family photos. Participants must provide their own camera.
Ornament Making – learn to make various ornaments and crafts.
Blacksmith Demonstrations – watch as staff from the Greeley Centennial Museum demonstrate various techniques used in blacksmithing.
National Pony Express Association – write a postcard & deliver it via a Pony Express rider.
Living History– join living historians as they portray the life and times of the pioneer days.
Christmas Tree Display – enjoy the beauty of several decorated Christmas Trees.
Live Pioneer Music, with Anna, Rachel & Friends 10:00 a.m. 10:45 a.m. and the Phoenix Ringers Handbell Choir 1:00 p.m.-1:45 p.m.
Hang out with Seymour Antelope – Seymour raises awareness about the importance of connecting children and families with nature and public lands.

Holiday On The Homestead:

Saturday, December 9th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to benefit the local non-profit, Wyoming Food for Thought Project. Needed items include: peanut butter, fruit cups, cereal boxes, ramen noodles, and granola bars.
