Celebrate World Water Day On The River In Casper
Here's a pop quiz for you:
This is one of the most essential things in life. You can't live without it, and at the same time, too much of it can kill you. 71% of the earth is covered with it, with an estimated 332.5 million cubic miles. It can fall from the heavens or rise from the ground. It's used for pleasure and work. It's colorless but appears blue, green, brown, or red.
If you haven't guessed yet, it's water.
It's weird to think that a mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen makes up one of the most important things on earth.
Saturday, March 22, is World Water Day, and there's a big event in Casper where you can participate and help preserve one of our waterways, the North Platte River. The city of Casper is organizing a clean-up day along the river through the city.
You, your family, and your friends can join in on the fun of walking along the river and picking up trash. If you'd like to participate, all you'll need to do is fill out the volunteer form on the City of Casper's website (a form needs to be filled out for every participant, including kids).
The fun begins at 8:45, and the city will provide everything you need to complete the job, such as gloves, bags, vests, and tongs. However, you should bring your gloves, water, and snacks to keep you hydrated and energized for the day.
You're not only helping to Keep Casper Beautiful, but you're also getting a chance to stroll along the mighty North Platte River.
