All-You-Can-Eat Walleye With The North Platte Walleyes Unlimited
I know you've heard the saying, "Give a kid a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a kid to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime."
That's the philosophy of the North Platte Walleyes Unlimited.
NPWU is a nonprofit group of volunteers who work with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and other conservation organizations to improve and maintain Wyoming's walleye fisheries and regulations.
One of the cool parts of NPWU is that the money they make from fundraising stays here in Wyoming. Contributing to the fishing community in many different ways.
This group of fishing fanatics raises money to ensure the state of Wyoming is educated and outfitted to carry on the tradition of fishing. With funds raised through the years, the group has given out thousands of fishing poles and tackle boxes to kids and was one of the first to step up and help start the lifejacket loaner program across the region.
In 2023, with money raised from their annual banquet and Toughman fishing tournament, the group donated Walleye tanks to the Dan Speas Fish Hatchery to aid in the future of Walleye in the state.
If you'd like to join this group or contribute to its mission of keeping Walleye strong in Wyoming, you're invited to the All-You-Can-Eat Walleye Banquet on April 12 at the Industrial Building on the fairgrounds in Casper.
To buy individual tickets or reserve a table, stop in Rocky Mountain Discount Sports on CY Ave in Casper or speak with any NPWU board member.
