Wyoming Star Chancey Williams Steps Into The Film Spotlight
The cat is out of the bag, and Chancey Williams can add "Movie Star" to his resume. I mean, come on, it's almost unfair all of the talent this guy has. Former rodeo stud, country music singer, musician, and now movie star?
In his debut role, Chancey will play Sheriff Harvey Whitehill in the new western short film 'Becoming Billy', which is part of the Outriding the Devil franchise.
Becoming Billy is part of the Outriding the Devil franchise — hailed as “Masterful” by the Houston Chronicle and “An unbelievable true story” by Sports Illustrated. The documentary premiered to acclaim at the National Finals Rodeo and chronicles one of the most inspirational comebacks in rodeo history.
The film also features:
Stetson Wright (10X PRCA World Champion)
Bob Tallman (ProRodeo Hall of Famer)
Shad “Money” Mayfield, Ky Hamilton, Zeke Thurston (PRCA World Champions)
Fallon Taylor (WPRA World Champion)
Rusty Wright (current #1 saddle bronc rider)
Narration is provided by Forrie J. Smith (Yellowstone), a Mescal Movie Set veteran.
Additional cast includes Eric Nelsen (1883), Eddie Spears (Into the West, Hell on Wheels), and country artist Ned LeDoux.
The soundtrack features Grammy‑nominated artist Radney Foster.
You may not know this about me, but I'm a huge Billy the Kid fan, and Chancey is starring in a movie about how Henry McCarty became Billy the Kid, so you know this is on my list of movies to watch.
The film will debut where it was filmed, on the legendary Mescal Movie Set in Arizona, which is where movies like Tombstone, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Quick and the Dead, and Tom Horn were filmed.
If you're up for a road trip, heading to the legendary set to see the premiere, catch a live acoustic performance from Chancey, and meet with the cast, check out the movie, and walk the streets of the legendary movie set. Tickets are limited, and available now.
You know what Chancey says, right? The World Need's More Cowboys.
