An alumna of Colorado State University's Design and Merchandising department could be HGTV's next big star. Knoxville, Tennessee native Mary Welch Fox Stasik now has her own design series, 'Breaking Bland.' You may have seen the show, since it began airing last month, but you may not have known Mary Welch was once a Ram.

Colorado State University's official Instagram page shared a photo of Mary Welch, with the caption, 'Alum Mary Welch Fox Stasik is one of HGTV’s newest stars with her new series, Breaking Bland.' But, the designer is far from Fort Collins now. She began her design career in New York City, and now resides with her family (including her husband, a member of the jam band Umphree's McGee), in Charleston, South Carolina.

HGTV said that the eclectic Mary Welch 'isn't afraid to push the boundaries with her big-city style,' and that 'she's introducing homeowners to some much-need flare with her one-of-a-kind designs.'

Mary Welch said in the 'Breaking Bland' teaser that she feared people in South Carolina wouldn't embrace her unique design aesthetic. The mother of two described herself as 'crazy, fun, and a little weird but in the best ways possible.'

So, if you were expecting the refined, southern charm of Chip and Joanna Gaines — with farmhouse kitchens, shiplap walls and a lot of white paint — well, that's not really what you'll get from the 'spunky' rock star wife, Mary Welch. You can see a sneak peek of the show from HGTV, below.
