Della Mae: Beauty, Boston And Bluegrass Converge At Beartrap [VIDEO]

Five beautiful Bostonians, with incredible harmonies and supreme Bluegrass chops - what's not to like?  The five musical ladies known simply as Della Mae will be part of Saturday, August 3rd's lineup at the Beartrap Summer Festival, a day that also contains singer/songwriter-extraordinaire Rodney Crowell, who no doubt would admire what these ladies have accomplished musically so far.

It was only two years ago when Della Mae burst onto the Bluegrass scene with their do-it-yourself debut release "I Built This Heart", which, along with their high-energy performances at various Bluegrass festivals around the country, quickly won them a large following of fans, as well as catching the attention of Rounder Records, who recently released their second album, "This World Oft Can Be" in late May of this year. Rounder's ear for quality artists is legendary - evidenced by a growing roster of Della Mae's new label-mates, such as Allison Krauss, Bela Fleck, Gregg Allman, Aaron Neville, Beartrap alumnus Ricky Skaggs, Robert Plant, and too many more to mention.

Recorded at the late Johnny Cash's Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee, "This World Oft Can Be" is just like the band - a uniquely sweet combination of harmonies and musical abilities, that shows equal parts respect for American musical tradition, while not being restricted by same - at times ultimately modern, and always original.
