I have lived with Brumotactillophobia my entire life, yet I didn't know that it was an actual legitimate phobia until a few days ago!

Brumotactillophobia is the fear of food touching.

I am that person that absolutely has to have at least half an inch separating all my food on my plate. I would rather go back and forth to the buffet ten times rather than have any possibility of my corn touching my turkey.

I am that person that rinses my plate off before getting seconds just to make sure there is no possibility of molecules from the food I've already eaten combining with my seconds.

After doing a little bit more research into this phobia I learned that it is a mild form of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I can't argue.

I even take it one step further and only eat one type of food at a time before moving to the next. Heck, I even serve my kids and husband plates with no food touching, even though they don't have Brumotactillophobia.

If you or a loved one suffers from Brumotactillophobia may I recommend keeping some of these plates on hand?

I don't think I'm the only Wyomingite that suffers from Brumotactillophobia.
