Don’t Take Driving Selfies On National Selfie Day… Or Any Day
Looking through the annals of Instagram and the location tags, you will see a lot of great photos. Especially from Wyoming, with our picturesque landscapes. You will also see a lot of selfies, and some of which may have been taken while driving. According to a study conducted by the Auto Insurance Center, Wyoming takes the most death-defying, driving selfies out of any state.
The study survey'd Instagram posts for all 50 states and determined photos that appeared like they could have been taken while driving. Wyoming beat out the competition with 44 posts per 100,000 people, but it should be noted that Wyoming's low population may skew results that rely on total population.
By contrast, Mississippi had the least amount of driving selfies, with 2.48 per 100,000 people.
Distracted driving, whether it's texting, dialing a cell phone number, or inexplicably, taking a selfie while controlling a two ton screaming metal death trap, should be avoided at all costs. For more information about how to stop distracted driving, visit the National Safety Council.
