When I was in high school, I knew a girl who was running for county fair queen and won. It felt pretty cool to know the "Queen," even though she was just the queen of our little county; still cool.

A few years later, I had the chance to interview quite a few fair and rodeo queens. After doing lots of those interviews, you realize that being the queen is hard work, and not the lush lifestyle that we commoners may think. These ladies were incredible individuals who decided to put themselves in front of the public and vie for a chance to wear the crown.

Imagine wearing a sash that says Miss Wyoming America Strong. You're not just representing your little county. You're representing the entire state of Wyoming.

Holy Moly, that's a lot of pressure and on a much higher level. Once again, I have the pleasure of saying that I know a "Queen".

Gena Jensen is feeling that pressure and is taking it like a champ, as she is set to represent Wyoming in the Miss America Strong pageant in Las Vegas. The competition is just a few weeks away, and Gena is in full-on fundraising mode, because despite what you may think, competing to be queen is NOT cheap.

Gena has a campaign to help her raise funds to ease the financial pressure of making her way to Vegas. Already, there are businesses and individuals who have taken the time to help, but there are still dresses, makeup, travel, and other expenses to cover, and she could use your help.

She has a cool envelope fundraiser going on her Facebook page. There are 100 digital envelopes, and all you have to do is claim an envelope. The number of the envelope you claim is the amount of the donation. So, for example, if you pick envelope #44, you donate $44.

You can pick as many as you want. You will then donate the amount of all of the envelopes combined. Then your name is entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card. When all of the envelopes are sold, Gena will draw a winner.

A fun way to raise a little cash and help Miss Wyoming America Strong get to Vegas.

You can also donate higher amounts through her Venmo (GenaJ5598)
