I've met some great people in the music industry in my 28 years in the business, but Skip Ewing is one of the all-time best that I've ever met.

Skip made the move to Nashville in the 1980's and started making waves right away. Through the years, he wrote a ton of songs that became huge hit songs, recorded numerous albums as artist and toured the country playing those songs for country music fans everywhere.

Skip has written songs that were sung by Kenny Chesney, Collin Raye, Diamond Rio, Reba, Bryan White, Doug Stone and Randy Travis, just to name a few. Needless to say, but Skip is in the country music history books already and continues to make magic.

After a brief pause in his musical career to work with horses, Skip is full speed ahead back into the music industry. Writing new songs, playing guitar, shooting music videos, recording new albums and touring the country, he's doing it all, but this time, he's doing it from his new home here in Wyoming.

Much of the music that Skip 2.0 has released over the last couple of years has been inspired by his new home, Wyoming, which is the name of the title track from one album.

Over the last few months, Skip has been working on and releasing new music. Along the way, he's allowed us to be the radio station to be the first in country to play the songs first.

The first song last summer is an incredible tune called Knots.

Just a couple of months ago, Skip came back into the studio to premiere his latest tune called Road Dog.

It's great that Skip wants Wyomingites to be some of the first to hear his new music. It shows how he enjoys living here and love this state and spreading the love of music all around it.

Since it's December, he's setting out on his annual Christmas tour. Luckily for all of us in Wyoming, he's playing here.

If you've never heard Skip's Christmas music, boy, you're missing out. Lucky for you, Skip is coming back to Douglas on Friday December 8th, to play some of those great Christmas tunes, and maybe a few of the hits. You definitely don't want to miss out and get into the holiday spirit.

Another big thing that's happening with Skip, is reigning CMA Entertainer, Female Vocalist, Album, and Musical Event of the Year awards winner Lainey Wilson has cut one of those big songs that Skip wrote back in the 90's.

Great News For Wyoming's Awesome Singer/Songwriter Skip Ewing

The song is called 'I Would If I Could', and was written by a couple country music legends, of course Skip Ewing is one and the other is Dean Dillon. Dean, is one of those Nashville songwriters that's written huge songs for artists like George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Keith Whitley. So, you know when these two hit writers got together, the creative juices were flowing and magic was made.

Lainey told fellow singer and Apple host, Kelleigh Bannen, that she chose to cut the song because she knew it was the right one.

When you listen to the first line of the song, it is classic… And it feels like a song that should already be a song. Two of the most incredible songwriters that have ever existed. I look up to them a whole lot. And I wanted to record something that was done a long time ago, that still stood the test of time, is timeless; this melody.

Lainey's version of the song is now available for you to download on Apple Music.

It's been awesome getting to know Skip and hear about his musical journey and I can't wait to be able to be a part of the next chapter of Skip's, ever growing, career.

Skip put out his demo version of the song, you can give it a listen here.
