Guernsey State Park Fire At 20% Containment (UPDATE)
Guernsey State Park is closed due to a wildfire until further notice. The Guernsey Fire Complex now includes the Guernsey Fire and the Cow Camp Fire.

Guernsey, WY-
A voluntary evacuation was issued for the community of Hartville and residents along Pleasant Valley Road. Residents are strongly encouraged to leave for their own safety as well as the safety of firefighters. Road closures have been put in effect to keep the area clear for incoming firefighting resources within the fire perimeter.
The following road closures are in effect:
- · Wendover Road
- · Pleasant Valley Road to Highway 270
- · Lake Side Drive to Highway 270
The Guernsey State Park has been closed to all visitors until further notice. For any questions regarding the closure of the State Park please call 307-631-8152.
Air Resources continue to be used to cool hotspots within the interior and along the perimeter of the fire line. Fire management has been using five Type 1 Helicopters, three of which are UH60 Black Hawk Helicopters from the Wyoming National Guard and a Type II Helicopter. These helicopters have a very quick turn around time, they are averaging 150,000 gallons of water an hour dipping from the reservoir.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
