It's A Huge Week For The Exciting Casper Spuds

Before the season began, the Casper Spuds called it the Revenge Tour 2024 season. After losing in heartbreaking fashion in 2023, the returning players were determined not to let this year end the same way. The goal was to be the season's first and second-half champions and then win the end season of the championship series.

This team was determined and fired up all season long.

To show how serious they were, after going 10-4 to start the season, the Spuds went on a twenty-one-game winning streak. During that winning streak, the Spuds won the first half of the season in dominating fashion, finishing 19-4.

Goal one was accomplished.

The second half was just as exciting for the Spuds. Their winning streak continued. On the 4th of July, they played in front of the largest sellout crowd to date at Mike Lansing Field against the Prospects. Then, they were the first Independence League team to win 40 games and went on to win the second half of the season with a 22-5 record.

Goal two was accomplished.

Now it's on to goal number three, the end-of-season championship series.

The Spuds finished with an overall record of 41-9 and are returning to the Independence League Championship Series.

I mentioned that last year ended in a heartbreaking fashion, and they will get a chance to round out Revenge Tour 2024 against the team that caused the heartbreak in 2023: the Fremont Moo. The Moo beat the Spuds 8-1 in game 5 of last year's ILB championship series.

This season, two of the Spuds' four first-half losses were to the Moo, but overall, the Spuds went 4-2 against Fremont.

There's no doubt it's going to be a great series.
