It’s Awfully Risky To Light Fireworks In Natrona County
Some will say it's because Natrona County is a fun hating county.
Others will say, thank you.
Most probably don't care.
No matter how you look at it, Natrona County doesn't allow personal fireworks. If you've lived here long, you'll remember that fireworks were made illegal (in Natrona County) in 2005.
That doesn't mean you can't enjoy watching fireworks in Natrona County, it just means you can't shoot them off.
I don't care what anyone says, the fireworks you buy, aren't anywhere as cool as the ones that will be set off by places like the Ford Wyoming Center. You're also not going to get a soundtrack like you will with FWC's fireworks display. Turn your radio on in Casper, and you can watch fireworks and listen to great music too.
Not only is it important not to shoot of fireworks, but maintaining fire safety is also a must.
If you're spending the holiday camping, grilling, floating or just around the campfire, fire safety is very important. Currently there are no fire bans, so that means a campfire or bonfire are possibilities.
The Natrona County Fire District has offered up some important safety information, that you should pass on to your family, friends and neighbors.
-Make sure you are at a site that allows campfires.
-Clear a 10-foot area around the pit down to the dirt, removing anything that could catch on fire.
-Stack extra wood upwind and away from fire.
-Never leave a campfire unattended; an adult should supervise the campfire at all times.
-Keep something close by to be able to extinguish the fire (bucket of water or hose)
-Never put anything but wood into the fire.
-When it's time to put the fire out, dump lots of water on it, stir it with a shovel, then dump more water on it. Make sure it is COLD before leaving the campsite. If it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave!
