Wyoming Exposed: Thrillist Shines Light on Hidden Gems and Rodeos
The average Wyoming resident knows how awesome it is to live here, but to many, it is a well guarded secret, not to be shared with the rest of the country, if not the entire world.
The secret is out!
A recent article posted by travel and entertainment website, Thrillist, listed "Here's Where to Wrangle Up Your Best Wild West Life", and multiple Wyoming destinations were mentioned.
The articles begins by stating:
From rodeos and poetry gatherings to bonafide dude ranches, these Western adventures school city slickers in the cowboy way.
Some of the awesome Wyoming destinations and activities that were highlighted include:
- Sandboarding at the Killpecker Sand Dunes outside of Rock Springs
- The National High School Finals Rodeo
- The College National Finals Rodeo in Casper
- The Dubois Friday Night Rodeo in Dubois
- The Eatons’ Ranch (Wyoming Dude Ranch Destination)
- Black Cowboys: The Forgotten Silent Riders of the Rockies at the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper
While overall, much of the Montana West area was mention in the article, not everything was flattering. There was a point where Thrillist brought up Buffalo Bill Cody’s Wild West Show and the some of the harmful stereotypes that went along with it.
You can't blame Thrillist for doing their due diligence and again, generally speaking, the Cowboy State was painted in a very positive light.
With that being said, let's focus on all the good here.
