With so many server farms planning to locate in Wyoming, you have probably imagined what they might look like inside. Would you like to tour one?

The NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) opened its doors in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2012. Since then, more than 4,000 users from more than 575 universities and other institutions across the nation and overseas have used its advanced computing and data storage resources for research in the Earth system sciences.

It is open to the public for tours. Watch the video below to learn more.

The center is maintained and staffed by the NSF NCAR Computational & Information Systems Lab (CISL) as part of CISL's mission to support and advance the geosciences with world-class computing, data management, and research in computational science. The facility houses the computing and data storage resources described on the resources overview page. (Take a look at this time-lapse video of the new Derecho system being installed.)

The Visitor Center at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) in Cheyenne, Wyoming, offers informative tours and exhibits about weather, climate, supercomputing, and the broad spectrum of atmospheric research at a world-class science laboratory.

Learn about current Earth system science research spanning our planet's changing climate to the genesis of severe weather phenomena. Find out about computational science and see one of the fastest supercomputers in existence today.

Want to see a supercomputer up close? They provide a personalized tour of their supercomputer and the facility that keeps it running smoothly. You must be 9th grade or older to attend a guided tour. Tours may last from 45-90 minutes.

Old Medicine Of The Chugwater Wyoming Drugstore

If you visit the tiny town of Chugwater Wyoming you'll find the newly restored Soda Fountain.

In fact it's Wyoming's oldest soda fountain and malt shot.

It's always worth stopping in for breakfast or lunch, or maybe a shake or malt.

The place was a drug store and soda fountain for the longest time.

Back then soda was actually used to cure an upset stomach.

So what sort of old medicines were left behind by Chugwater's last pharmacist?

It turns out, some of them are on display.
