Cheyenne Man Convicted On Child Porn Charges

A Cheyenne man could be facing up to 52 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 after being convicted of several child pornography-related charges.

According to a post on the Cheyenne Police Department's Facebook page, a Laramie County jury on Tuesday night convicted 40-year-old Mathew Iverson of Cheyenne on five different child porn counts.

He was found guilty of one count of sexual exploitation of children - reproduction of child pornography, and four counts of sexual exploitation of children - possession of child pornography, according to the post.

According to the post, the investigation of Iverson started in March of 2023 when someone made a child pornography report.

A search warrant of Iverson's home turned up multiple devices with child porn, according to the post. Iverson was arrested and charged with the counts in April of last year. The trial lasted for two days, starting this past Monday.

Iverson has yet to be sentenced but could face anywhere between 5-and 52 years in prison.

According to the post, "The case was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department's Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) team, and was prosecuted by the Laramie County District Attorney's Office."
