Kevin Harvick is Leaving Richard Childress Racing for Stewart-Haas [VIDEO]
There are multiple NASCAR sources reporting that Kevin Harvick will be leaving Richard Childress Racing, and moving to Stewart-Haas Racing to take the wheel of their fourth car.
Harvick will continue to drive for RCR thru the 2013 season, then move to Stewart-Haas to team up with owner and friend Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, and Danica Patrick.
Kevin Harvick signed on with RCR 12 years ago, replacing Dale Earnhardt after his death at Daytona in 2001. No one could "replace" the Intimidator, but Kevin's has built a pretty "tough" reputation on his own...
Kevin Harvick has 18 Cup wins, including the 2007 Daytona 500. He considered leaving Childress when his contract was done back in 2010, but stayed on. He has finished third in points in both 2010, and 2011. He is currently twelfth in the 2012 Cup point standings.
(For the record, Kevin Harvick is one of my favorite drivers, and one of the friendliest that I have met. Want to know the rudest, and most egotistical driver I have met? ...Danica.)
