Luke Bryan was also surprised by a lack of female nominees for Entertainer of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards, and he supports Reba McEntire's decision to speak out about it.

McEntire was vocal in her disappointment that there are no women nominated for the top prize at the 2019, telling CBS This Morning, "It doesn't make me very happy, because we've got some very talented women out there who are working their butts off."

Sitting down with Buzzfeed News, Bryan echoed that, throwing his support behind the country legend for standing up to the system.

"It's something on everybody's radar, and it's so good that it's on everybody's radar, and I think Reba has earned the right to voice her opinion on matters like that," Bryan shares.

The "Most People Are Good" singer adds that it's important for an artist of McEntire's stature to make her opinion known, also acknowledging the many other female artists who deserve to have their voices heard.

"Somebody like Reba has to stand up and say to the Academy of Country Music and all forms of country music awards shows," he continues. "It does get a little bit tricky when it is a naturally male-heavy format, but there's so many women out there that should feel the right to speak up."

Bryan is the latest to contribute to the discussion of the lack of female representation in country music. Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves and Cam have all been outspoken about the issue, while Carrie Underwood and Morris are set to bring an all-female roster on tour with them on the Cry Pretty Tour 360 and Girl: The World Tour, respectively.

Keith Urban has also taken the initiative to highlight female artists, featuring Kassi Ashton as a guest vocalist on "Drop Top" and lending his voice to Jillian Jacqueline's "If I Were You," while Dierks Bentley shared his support for wanting more women on country radio during the Nashville stop on his Burning Man Tour.
