Midwest, Wyoming Man Riding Bike in Memory of His Son

For most parents, their worst fear is losing a child. One Midwest,Wyoming man has turned his tragedy into an inspirational bike challenge in an effort to end childhood cancer.

Eric Childress told me that he has accepted the Great Cycle Challenge USA, a program that is dedicated to helping find a cure for childhood cancer. Eric told me what motivated him to attempt this:

My family and I have personally been effected by Childhood Cancer. In 2009 my son was diagnosed with D.I.P.G. We spent almost 3 years battling with the help of St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Sadly we lost our son to this monster in 2012. I have chosen to participate in the ride this year in his memory. As long as I can help raise awareness about Childhood/Pediatric Cancer, I'm all in.

Eric is a driver for FedEx in Casper and lives in Midwest, Wyoming, but is using his spare time when he's not working to attempt to ride 50 miles in June. As of today, Eric is nearing the halfway point of his goal.
