The Moorcroft Wolves went into Casper this weekend and claimed their 10th state wrestling title in school history.

The Wolves have won 8 straight titles under coach Charlie Williams. The team becomes just the sixth team in Wyoming history to achieve 10 or more team titles.

A total of 203.5 total points we accumulated by Moorcroft to claim its state title by beating its closest competitor by 66.5 points.

Moorcroft had two of its wrestlers take home championships this weekend. The team also had 10 of its wrestlers' place in at least the top 6 of their individual weight class.

Parker Seeley claimed his title at 145 pounds by beating Roedy Farrell of Thermopolis in a 9-5 decision.

The second title was obtained by Rowdy Pfeil who defeated Riley Shaffer of Thermopolis.

"Eight times you can't beat it," Williams said.

That quote was from head wrestling coach Charlie Williams and he was describing how it felt to the 2A state wrestling title again. According to Williams, he said this was his team's single best wrestling day at state that they have ever had.

The coach explained to me that his wrestlers won nearly every match that they were lined up to as the team only lost three matches in the wrestle backs round on Saturday.

"All the wins are celebrated together and all the losses are taken together," Williams said.

The coach was proud of his team as they came together as a team to help one another out and complete this state title victory.
