Natrona County Firefighters Battle Freezing Temperatures, Flames
Natrona County firefighters were able to extinguish a shop fire early Thursday morning despite limited water sources, freezing temperatures and limited manpower.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
According to the Natrona County Fire District, firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire off of Highway 220 for a shop that was on fire. They got there as quickly as they could on icy roads.
The shop was fully involved with fire showing from the exterior. Fire crews were told that vehicles, fuel and other items were inside the building.
Firefighters managed to contain the flames to just the shop building, and extinguished the blaze a few hours after arriving.
The amount of damage to the building was not immediately clear.
The fire district was assisted by Casper Fire-EMS, Wyoming Medical Center, the Natrona County Sheriff's Office and the Bar Nunn Fire Department.
