The Natrona County School District Board of Trustees will take a closer look at their bullying policies and procedures, as discussed during their February 12th meeting.  According to an NCSD news release, "trustees identified areas for improvement including consistency within the investigation and punishment of such instances, transparency of district data about bullying, and training/ education for students and staff about bullying. As part of the ongoing discussion, trustees will continue to facilitate these areas for improvement during a future board work session."

School District officials came under criticism in the aftermath of an alleged waterboarding incident at Kelly Walsh High School, and said they would conduct a review of their policies regarding the release of information in such incidents.

Also at the February 12th meeting, the NCSD trustees approved the recommendation to officially name Mike Britt as new principal of Kelly Walsh High School. Britt is currently the principal at Centennial Middle School and will take over the new post from Brad Diller, who will be retiring at the end of the school year after 23 years in that position. Britt was one of five finalists for the post.

The board also approved Mr. Steve Ellbogen and Dr. Charlotte Gilbar as NCSD Executive Directors. Ellbogen is currently the principal at Dean Morgan Middle School, and Gilbar is NCSD’s Director of Assessment and Research.
