The intersection of Poplar and Collins will see nightly closures into the weekend as crews approach the end of road work there.

Curtis Ingram, construction superintendent at Reiman Corp., says the intersection will be closed from 8 p.m. to roughly 4 a.m. Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night into Saturday morning.

During commuting hours and the rest of those days, traffic will flow through the intersection as it has during the work thus far, with lane and speed restrictions in effect.

Ingram anticipates paving work to be complete by Saturday morning, and says further closures likely will not be necessary.

Work has been ongoing for weeks at the intersection, with roughly three weeks until the project should be completed.

Speed limits are reduced in work zones. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and keep workers' safety in mind.
