Cheyenne East went 8-1 in 4A football during the regular season after crushing Kelly Walsh in Casper 69-8 on Friday night. The T-Birds' fast-paced offense just plain overwhelms the opposing team and their lowest point total this season was 37. That was in their lone defeat of the season to Sheridan.

East got with it right from the git-go on Friday as Renton Jensen caught a pair of touchdown passes from Cam Hayes and Drew Jackson had a 2-yard run to the end zone so the T-Birds led 21-0 after one-quarter of play.

Kadon Boyce put Kelly Walsh on the board in the 2nd quarter with a 37-yard gallop for a TD and the 2-point try was good to cut the gap to 21-8. Later in the quarter, Drew Jackson recorded his 2nd rushing touchdown of the night,  Kolbe Dierks caught a 7-yard TD pass and David Hondel caught a 5-yard touchdown pass. At halftime, East was in command 41-8 and that was pretty much the ballgame.

Cheyenne East is the #2 seed in the 4A playoffs and will host Rock Springs in the quarterfinal round. Kelly Walsh is 2-7 and will be the #8 seed in the postseason. the Trojans will be on the road to meet defending state champion Sheridan in the opening round.
