Suspect In Evansville Bank Robbery Turns Himself In
A suspect accused of robbing a bank in Evansville is in custody.
The Evansville Police Department says at around 9:30am on Tuesday, May 3rd, a white male, around 5'10"-5'11", in his late 40's to early 60's, wearing blue jeans and a dark zip up jacket entered the Platte Valley Bank.
He was carrying a gun, (unknown if it was loaded) took it out of its holster, but did not point it at anyone.
The man took an undetermined amount of cash, and fled in a white SUV Equinox with no plates.
A Police Department spokes-person says at around noon, a family member talked the suspect into turning himself in, and he was taken into custody a short time later.
The suspect has not yet been identified and is believed to have been acting alone.
No injuries were reported during the robbery.
