What To Do When You Find A Lost Card In Casper
Scrolling through social media lately, I've noticed a trend in some of the Casper Facebook groups, where a significant number of debit or credit cards have been found. It's awesome that people are trying to find the owner, most likely because they know how big of a pain in the butt it can be for that person.
If you happen to find a card that someone has lost or left behind, here are a few ways for you to reunite the card with its owner.

NerdWallet.com advises on the correct way to handle a found card.
- If you're in a hurry, you can easily hand the card to someone of authority wherever you are or return it to the bank that issued it. Get that person's information so you know who you are giving it to. The person who lost the card will likely try to retrace their steps to find it, or the store may be able to help locate the owner.
- If you have extra time and are willing to dive deeper into finding the card's owner, you can call the phone number on the back of the card. When you provide them with the information on the card, they'll be able to contact the card's owner to inform them.
Finding a card and looking for its owner comes with great responsibility and could put you in the line of fire.
Tech expert Christopher McGirkan advises against posting the card or any information on social media. It may be an easy way to try to find the owner, but you could be opening yourself up to potential problems.
If you don't know whose card it is and reach out to the cardholder directly through social media, they could accuse you of stealing the card. If someone else found the card, used it, and disposed of it after using it, and you're the one to contact the owner, you could be blamed.
You shouldn't take a picture of the card and try to doctor the photo to post online because someone may be able to make out the name, parts of the number, expiration date, or bank information. Again, if you have someone else's card and it is used, you could be held responsible.
Always use caution, not just for your sake, but for the others who are involved.
