The Reveille Rotary Club of Casper is offering transportation for seniors over 60 to the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s performance Saturday evening, April 20, 2013. The concert will be held at the John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School. Included in the event will be a pre-symphony dinner outing to The Wonder Bar. Jo DePaolo, President of the Reveille Rotary Club stated, “Over a year ago, it was brought to the attention of our Reveille Rotary Club that there are a number of seniors in our community who prefer not to drive at night but would like to attend the Wyoming Symphony performances. A number of our Reveille Rotarians stepped up to serve as drivers to the performances. Reveille Rotary is pleased to partner with Covenant Insurance Group, Inc., who is helping to make the Seniors to the Symphony program possible.”

Anyone 60 years and over wishing to get a ride, dinner and a ticket to the performance must call Susan Chavis at 277-6730 or Carolyn Griffith at 235-8384 to reserve a spot.  There is limited availability. There is no charge for transportation or the ticket; however, a $20 donation toward the price of the ticket to the performance is appreciated where possible. Registration includes a general admission ticket to the event, a ride from home to and from the concert, and dinner at The Wonder Bar. Covenant Insurance Group, Inc., the Reveille Rotary Club and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra are working together to provide this opportunity for seniors, who choose not to drive at night, to socialize and enjoy the symphony.

Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director and Conductor, Matthew Savery states, “Nothing compares to the magic of live symphonic music.”  The April 20 performance will close out the 2012-13 Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s season in Casper. For the grand finale of the exciting 63rd concert season, the Symphony offers an evening of tall tales, yarns and fables. The night will begin with fantastical fairy tales from Overture to Mozart’s Opera, The Magic Flute. Next, they’ll present a piece that still to this day spurs rumor and speculation, Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony. Finally attendees will be captivated with the Arabian tales of 1001 Nights, in Rimsky-Korsakov’s brilliantly orchestrated and universally adored Scheherazade.
