Scotty McCreery Doesn’t Want to Act, Plans to Stick With Music [VIDEO]

Country darling Scotty McCreery may have logged a lot of time in LA during his run on ‘American Idol,’ but he still hasn’t been bitten by the acting bug.

The reigning ‘Idol’ champ told WSOC radio he didn’t know if he’d “pull a Tim McGraw,” referring to his one-time duet partner and star of movies like ‘The Blind Side’ and ‘Country Strong.’

“I’m going to stick with country,” McCreery said.

He hasn’t abandoned his Southern roots, either — he still prefers regional fare like sweet tea and biscuits, and he isn’t throwing around his newfound wealth. “I haven’t gone out and bought a gold chain … or anything. I’m still eatin’ off the dollar menu.”
