Free Kayaks And Paddle Boards At Boysen State Park This July 3rd

Families are looking for fun activities to keep the kids busy this summer, and with this weekend being a long weekend for many people, it may be the only time you have to get out and enjoy some areas of Wyoming you wouldn't normally get to see.

On July 3, Boysen State Park near Shoshoni is offering your family a chance to spend time on the water for a morning of kayaking and paddle boarding. The park will have kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets available for free use on a first-come, first-served basis from 9-11 a.m. No registration is required for the open-water time.

At 11 a.m. there will be guided tours available. You'll need to register in advance for the tours. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn! Age requirements are not set, but each participant must be able to paddle their own watercraft on their own.

This would be a great opportunity to get the kids and family on the water, especially if you're planning on spending the 4th of July weekend camping at the park, or staying in an airBnb or cabin in the area.

Remember, to camp, you'll need to make reservations and if you're just enjoying the park for the day, you'll need your day pass.

Wyoming Resident Fees

Day Use:
- Parks    $7 per day, per vehicle
- Historic Sites   $4 per day, per adult (kids are free)

Camping:  Resident $18.20/per night

Annual Passes:
- 1st Vehicle   $48 Day Use*/ $89.60 Camping**
- Additional Vehicle   $24 Day Use/ $44.80 Camping**
*EARLY BIRD SALE: Dec 1—Feb 15, annual daily use passes are discounted to $42
** Annual camping passes do not cover day use fees.

Rates are subject to change based on local and state sales and lodging tax rates.  The base rate for camping is $10 for residents and $18 for non-residents.  Fees for camping per vehicle are calculated as follows: base camping fee + day use fee + sales & lodging tax.
