Believe it or not, this is really a thing. There is a movement where pet owners are making their dogs and cats go vegan. Do you think this would ever happen in Casper?

I'm not making this up. Food Envy shared a story about why pet owners are putting their animals on plant-based diets. It's no surprise that many of these owners are also vegan and want their dogs and cats to adopt the same lifestyle they have.

PETA also backs this vegan philosophy for animals. They recommend that pets on vegan diets also be given supplements for the protein they need to be healthy.

Not everyone agrees this is a good idea. If you check WebMD, you'll notice that they share warnings about the risk of making your pets go vegan. This includes:

  • Lack of protein
  • Imbalance of amino acids
  • Vitamins and minerals they may miss without meat

WebMD doesn't say you shouldn't do it. But, they have a list of do's and don'ts if you decide it's right for your pet.

Since this is Wyoming, I have to wonder if this is (or will ever be) a common thing here. Would you make your cat or dog go vegan?
