Show us your picks: Week Zero
LARAMIE -- It's officially college football season.
Man, that sentence feels good to write.
There are 11 games on the docket during Zero Week, including the Wyoming Cowboys traveling to Champaign, Ill., to take on the Fighting Illini. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Mountain Time and the game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
If you're new to 7220sports.com, we pick games each week in this space. This year -- aside from this Saturday -- we will choose our winner in 12 games across the college landscape, with a main focus on the Mountain West Conference.
Fellow league members Utah State, Nevada, Hawaii and UNLV are also teeing it off on Saturday.
Here's our weekly pickers:
Master of graphics, Jen Kost
The guy who makes the money, Jared Newland
My LA Rams -- not CSU -- obsessed coworker, Doug Randall
Mr. Do Everything, Mat Murdock
Photographer extraordinaire, DJ Johnson
And the guy who rarely gets any picks right, me, Cody Tucker
Each week we will randomly select a pair of fans to join us. This Saturday, Carli Bassett and Ronald Hochstatter get that dubious honor.
As of now, Wyoming is an 11-point underdog at Illinois. Here are the other available odds, which, of course, are subject to change:
Northwestern (+13.5) at Nebraska (in Ireland)
UConn (+27.5) at Utah State
Charlotte (+7.5) at Florida Atlantic
North Texas (-1) at UTEP
Nevada (-9.5) at New Mexico State
Vanderbilt (-7.5) at Hawaii
Welp, here goes nothing. Here are our Zero-Week picks:
