The ladies team from Southeast High School in Yoder have been close to winning a state title more than a few times in the last decade or so. The Cyclone's last championship was in 2018 and they added another in 2022 with a 58-53 overtime win over Upton on Saturday at the Ford Center in Casper. Both teams looked sharp in the first half with Southeast going 11-19 from the field while Upton went 12-22.

Southeast struggled from the field in the 2nd half but they made 17 free throws out of 23 attempts including some huge ones in the overtime session. The Cyclones outscored the Bobcats 9-4 in overtime to finish the year 27-2. They were led in scoring by Brenna Herring with 17 and Kealy Carson added 11.

For Upton, it's two straight years that they have in the 1A championship game got 17 points from Jerrica Caylor and Paige Timberman, The Bobcats wrapped up the year 24-5.
