Stupid Chair Ruins A Great Picture Of A Wyoming Bison
As tourist season approaches, the crews in Yellowstone National Park have started the long process of clearing roads for opening day. Before you know it, we'll see pictures, videos, social media posts, and reports of close encounters.
It happens every year, so it shouldn't surprise us.
I saw a video posted to a YouTube channel called Newsflare, a marketplace that will pay you for your videos. In it, a woman is doing her best to keep a safe 25-yard distance between herself and a bison.
The problem is that her chair was left as an innocent bystander. The bison doesn't care that there's a chair next to it, probably because it's not trying to stick a phone in its face or take a selfie.
I think the video's commentary is the funniest part. It's probably the scenario where the woman recording the experience and the chair's owner were waiting. That once-in-a-lifetime Yellowstone Bison experience. The woman is asked if there's anything significant in the chair. I assume they meant a wallet or ID.
Her response: Just a couple of Cokes.
Another female, I assume with the videographer, then says, "Go over and get our chair, somebody."
From the sound of their conversation, they were a little anxious about the chair blocking everyone's perfect picture opportunity. This is funny because instead of only 16,000 likes if one of them had walked over and grabbed the chair, they may have been charged by the bison and probably would've received significantly more likes, shares, and comments.
Either way, it's a cool video, and they show how you're supposed to handle Yellowstone animal interaction.
