It's not exactly breaking news that Wyoming had a ton of lightning thanks to storms this week. That was especially true for the area around Clark that ended up with quite the lightning show in their skies.

The Mount Washburn Fire Lookout is located southwest of Mammoth Hot Springs and north of Madison Junction.

This summer storm season has been one for the books in Wyoming. It hasn't been isolated to just one area either. We've had tornados, lightning storms, and hail storms all over Wyoming, the only thing we're missing are the locust!

We had one of our first true spring thunderstorms go through Casper this week and it was packing some spectacular lightning. If you're wondering how we grabbed some snaps, here's an easy way you can do it if you have an iPhone.

The Folsom Fire does not pose a threat to park visitors.

No structures, nor any injuries, have been reported lost so far.

The fire control situation is described by local authorities as “fluid” and several structures are reportedly threatened.

The largest fire off Bucknum Road west of Casper involved hundreds of acres.

On Thursday evening 7/27, we experienced a late afternoon thunderstorm here in Cheyenne, but in Nebraska, the lightning was a little more severe-and caught on camera.

Lt. Stewart Anderson of Natrona County Emergency Management says there are 6 fires in the area including one on Casper Mountain.

Officials had hoped rainy conditions would have delayed the start of wildfire season, but that's not the case.

Another lightning caused fire was discovered Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:30pm just north of Bondurant, Wyoming.
