After picking up his PRCA card almost 20 years ago, it was always a goal of team roper Jhett Johnson to win his way into the National Finals Rodeo. He has done that 5 times and has finished as high as 4th in the world standings. With increased family commitments and the pressures of running a ranch with his father and brother, this could be his last.

Getting to the NFR takes a lot of wins and some pretty good pay days along the way to finish in the top 15 and secure a trip to Vegas and that means a time commitment that Jhett, who is married and has 3 boys, is unwilling to make any more. Now that doesn't mean that Jhett stops roping all together he is just looking for the flexibility of taking some time to rope with his boys, work on the ranch and most importantly take care of those honey-dos that his wife Jenny has for him to complete. We visited with Jhett in Las Vegas as he prepares for this years NFR.

Jhett and the rest of Team Wyoming start competition on Thursday night at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas and if you can't be there in person you can find the action live on GAC for every performance.

Here are some video highlights of Jhett roping in the annual George Strait competition in Texas.
