Two Dogs Killed, One Person Bitten as Trio of Dogs Runs Loose Through Casper

Two dogs have reportedly died and one person was bitten Tuesday after a group of three dogs got loose in Casper.

Of those three dogs, one has been caught by Casper Metro's animal control officers. The other two continue to run loose.

Metro Animal Supervisor Scott Schell told K2 Radio News on Wednesday that the three dogs got out in the area of 18th and Lennox at about 4:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The three dogs went on to attack two other dogs. Schell says he believes both of the dogs which were attacked have since died.

One person was bitten as they tried to break up the dog fight. No word yet on the extent to which that person was injured.

Schell says authorities are still investigating the incident, and he was only able to release a few details while the investigation continues.

He said animal control officers worked the call for some four and a half hours on Tuesday, until nearly 9 p.m.

The two dogs that are still on the loose were last seen by a Casper police officer near Wyoming Boulevard and McKinley between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., Schell said.

Anyone who sees the two pit bulls running loose is asked to call animal control at 235-8398. People should use caution if near the dogs.

"I'd always be concerned about approaching a stray dog," Schell said.
