Original Story:

Segments of Interstate 25 were closed Sunday as a snow storm moved through the area, contributing to a number of crashes statewide.

The northbound lanes of I-25 between Douglas and Casper were closed shortly before noon due to a crash, with no estimated reopening time. The southbound lanes in that area were open but listed as wet, slick in spots with snowfall and strong winds.

A short time earlier, all lanes of I-25 between Casper and Wyoming Highway 387, or exit 227, were closed due to winter conditions with no estimated reopening time.

In the Shirley Basin, Highway 487 between Medicine Bow and the northern junction with Highway 77, as well as all of Highway 77, were closed due to winter conditions with no estimated reopening time.

Interstate 80 was closed in both directions between Laramie and Rawlins, and Highway 287 was closed between Laramie and I-80 at Walcott Junction. Eastern segments of the highway were set to reopen between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., but there was no estimated reopening time for the highway closer to Walcott Junction.

"Rolling closures" were implemented by WYDOT on portions of I-80 east of Laramie and west of Rawlins.

In other areas, such as I-25 near Wheatland, roads were closed to light, high-profile vehicles due to strong winds and extreme risk of vehicles blowing over.
