The Wheatland girls basketball team will be looking to build off of last year's state tournament appearance and ended up taking 5th place. The Bulldogs don't have many seniors so the junior will be taking a big role this season.

Grace Battershell is their point guard and she is also a sharpshooter from the perimeter. Jadea Graves plays in the post and she can be effective in the paint and also competes in high school rodeo.

Wheatland beat Kemmerer and Worland but lost to Lander in the Douglas tournament over the weekend so they're 3-3 on the year. The non-conference part of the schedule is built for learning so the Dawgs will be looking for progress.

We talked with Graves and Battershell after their win over Kemmerer on Friday night. Hopes are high and that's always a good thing.
