PhotoFest! Wheatland Smothers Glenrock in 2A Football
Wheatland was a bit overmatched in their first two football games this season but the Bulldogs now have won 2 of their last 3 with a 50-0 road win over Glenrock on Friday night.
Wheatland got on the board in the opening quarter of play as Abad Luna got into the end zone to make it 6-0. That was followed in the 2nd by a 7-yard run for a score from Brock Peasley to increase the Bulldog lead to 14.
In the 2nd half, Peasley tossed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Stenson and just like that, Wheatland led 22-0. Glenrock was hampered by a couple of fumbles deep in their own territory and Bode Stone recovered one of the miscues in the end zone for a touchdown and that game was out of reach at 30-0.
In the 4th quarter, Peasley found Cadence Arellano for a TD and in the 4th quarter, Cole Goertz had a 2-yard run for a score and a 69-yard spurt for a touchdown as Wheatland improved to 2-3.
The Bulldogs will have a tough challenge this week as they'll host Big Horn. Glenrock is 0-4 and has scored just 4 touchdowns in 4 games. The Herders will be on the road in Burns on Friday.
