Why Is It Hazy Across Wyoming?
The National Weather Service is reporting that the haze we are seeing across Wyoming and the West is something that we can blame on Canada.
This haze appears to have originated from very large fires that have been ongoing across northern Alberta (and places farther north). The strong low pressure that has been southwest of the Hudson Bay has produced strong northwest winds that have been transporting smoke southeastward toward our region. This smoke will linger through Tuesday, but winds will become southeast on Wednesday and thus end the southward transport of the Canadian smoke.
