Gearheads are heading to Bar Nunn this weekend for the high-speed action of the WYO Street Wars, and you can too. Saturday, the temps may be on the rise, but the real heat will be from the hot action of street drag racing.

There are only a few rare moments when you'll find the streets shut down, and cars burning rubber down them. The Christmas tree will hit green for the first time Saturday morning around 11 am, but gates will open around 8 for a day of action-packed drag racing.

The event is put on by Wind City No Prep, LLC, and I'd say they're pumped for the fans to show up and the first pre-race burnout to happen.

The Street Wars lineup will include:

  • Small Tire
  • Limited Street
  • NA (Naturally Aspirated) Small Tire
  • Real Street -

With four great classes, great payouts, and lots of cars, this will be a full-day event with plenty of food and drink options. Multiple food trucks will be on hand, and it's going to be HOT, so there will be an ice trailer on-site to replenish your ice supply.

This isn't a free event, but it's one you need to go check out. It's only $10 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free.

According to the Facebook Event, if you're over 12, you must have a wristband. If you don't and refuse to get one, you will be considered trespassing and removed from the event.

The races will be on Westwinds Rd in Bar Nunn, so spectators are asked to use Tonkawa Trail to enter the racing area.
